At skin temperature and 1000 pounds of Epsom salt, the water you’ll find yourself reclined in will have you losing track of where it ends and your body begins.

For an hour—or more if you’d like—your mind is free of distraction and your body is free of gravity. The nothingness of that experience is everything and more.

In total darkness and with your ears just below the surface, nothing can reach you. The outside world is now non-existent. Your focus can turn inwards where amazing things will happen.

Giving your body a break from gravity’s hold, can be transforming. The stimulation of no stimulation allows usually otherwise occupied parts of your mind and body to completely focus elsewhere.

1000 pounds of salt cradling your body will leave your skin silky and your hair smooth when you emerge. And unlike what you experience after a long bath, your skin will not be pruney! An Epsom salt solution is actually moisturizing and hydrating.

No. There’s no right way or wrong way to float. Keep the lights off. Or turn them on. Listen to music or float in silence. Leave immediately or hang out after in the Lounge. Get lifted any way you like.

Nothing. Yourself and an open mind. Everything else is provided. Feel free to bring your own flip-fops and personal care items if you like.

Our state-of-the-art tanks are themselves works of art. In Brooklyn we have three USA-made Evolution Float Pods, which resemble giant eggs with clamshell lids, and two UK-manufactured Ocean Float Rooms, accessed by a side door. They feature 7-foot high ceilings adorned with a starlight effect; this allows you to contemplate the infinite as you begin your journey. In Huntington we have four Ocean Float Rooms.

We are partial to both. Try each type and see if you have a preference. Some first time guests appreciate the high ceilings and starlight effect of the Ocean Float Rooms and others like the interior light and music option that the Evolution Float Pods offer. Both are great and you can experience true “sensory deprivation” in either style simply by turning off the features.

Floating is also known as R.E.S.T. or Restricted Environmental Stimulation Therapy. The perfect acronym for what all of our bodies need from time to time.

Nothing specific. Ideally avoid caffeine 90 minutes before you float. It also best not to shave or wax right beforehand because the Epsom salt might sting a bit.

No need to worry. The Epsom salt solution will do all the work for you. You couldn’t not float if you tried!

For the benefit of your hair color and for the tanks, please wait until the water runs clear when you wash your hair before coming to float.

Every experience is different and unique to each user. But probably something you’ve never felt before.

Absolutely! Floatation has existed for over 50 years with numerous published studies validating the many benefits of float therapy. Sign-up for our newsletter or visit our blog to learn more.

Extremely. Our water is completely recirculated at least 3 times between each float through a 1 or 10 micron particulate filter, and then treated with either a combination of a germicidal UV lamp, ozone and hydrogen peroxide; or with a small amount of bromine. We test our water daily to ensure that your float will be safe and comfortable.

It is different. Your body is in an environment it probably hasn’t been in since birth. So yes. It will take some getting used to. But what worth doing doesn’t.

You most likely will prefer to float without them, so be sure to bring your case and solution.

No. Our tanks are designed for one, and we believe that floating is deeply personal and should be experienced alone. Additionally, NYC regulations prohibit more than one person in the tank. But we do have 5 tanks so you can book at the same time as your nearest and dearest.

Yes. With the okay from your physician or midwife, you may float in your second or third trimester.
